EvolvingConnections invites you to participate in a discussion about social isolation.
Meaningful social connections are vital to our mental and physical health. Social isolation is on the rise in our society, with more than one in four Americans living alone and face-to-face conversations being replaced by cell phones, email, texting, Facebook, and television. While we usually think of this in relation to the elderly, it impacts adults of all ages, genders, races, and life stages. Even Individuals with family close by are “crazy busy” with work and family concerns, leaving far less time for maintaining important social connections.

Salons originated in France in the 17th and 18th century as gatherings for enlightenment. In the 90s, the Utne Reader widely promoted salons as neighborhood conversations.
This salon was conceived and will be facilitated by Lisa Cook, 2012 Evolve Grad (North Hennepin). Join us with an open mind and an open heart as we discuss existing strategies for alleviating social isolation and brainstorm new ones.
Open to everyone. Please register to help our planning. Space is limited, so register early.
We, ourselves, will forge new meaningful social connections with the potential for wonderful ripple effects! Questions? Call LIsa at 651-484-0394 or email lisacook [at] planbconnections.com
